Take more time. Cover less ground.”
—Thomas Merton
After two years of racing around, it’s time for a reset.
Somewhere, between the chaos of a pandemic, our booming industry and other unimaginable curve balls, I got on the hamster wheel and couldn’t get myself off. My dear staff, in full support of the moment, came along with me. During this time, we worked too many hours and under too much pressure. Somehow, they did it with the most amazing, can-do spirit and smiles on their faces. At the end of the day, we got through it together and I couldn’t be more proud or grateful for the beautiful, kind, talented MQ team—I’m truly blessed.
In light of that awareness, I believe it’s time to slow down… to take a beat, as they say. To reevaluate, examine how we’re doing… and think about what we’d like to do more of, what we’d like to do differently.
Some of the questions we’re asking as we step into this New Year…
Throughout 2022, I’ll continue to search for insight into these questions – within myself, within the process of our practice at the Mead Quin studio, and following the wisdom of others. I’m looking forward to sharing with you what I find.
In the meantime, I’m making time in January to take a deep breath.
